The project comprises of 2 separate volumes to host the new Museum supporting facilities such as a Cafe reception, exhibition spaces, and community workshops. The proposal aims to be a sensitive extension to the existing Grade 2 listed Pump House improving the street frontage and defining the Museum identity. Visitors are welcomed to the museum through the reception area with a clear visual connection that draws them to the new courtyard area. The two new volumes are interlocking over two storeys creating attractive spacial configurations for each designated function.
